Challenge:

After the success of the Silent Echoes site, author John Bengtson wanted to promote his second book on silent film history, this time dealing with locations used in the films of Charles Chaplin. The site had to capture the flavor of the book, yet the author wanted a different "look" for the site, not a copy of the book's cover. This was achieved with a more cinematic approach; flashbulbs seem to go off when links are selected, and the filmstrip created from stills contrasts the screen Chaplin with the portrait used on the cover. Approval for images needed to come from the heirs to Chaplin's estate.
